Artist of the Week 🎶
I'm used to the people I work with having at least a few years of artist experience. Awareness of mic etiquette or basic DAW comprehension that would make the everyday session go that much smoother. Opportunities for "fresh paint" rarely come around and this is precisely the reason why I'm arguably harder on Chase then anyone else. The small part I play in his overall success requires more than a button pusher and vague ideas.
My joy in working with Chase comes from his approach. We have similar tastes in music but our creation processes can differ greatly. Where I may throw out a line because it technically fits the rhyme scheme we're in, Chase may go another way because he’s not writing from a scheme at all. It's the dice like back and forth between my routine and his curiosity that allows us to make the art that we do.
My songwriting was less collaborative when I started. Chase's third solo release, "Friends", was a song written before we met resulting in great lyrics and great vocals but no risk. On the surface It was an R&B artist singing an R&B song. I'm not sure what his sound is turning into yet and I like that. He's slowly shedding the genre labels he wore when first getting into music and making leaps toward a sound all his own!
Hard to keep silent when I know what's in the unreleased but luckily you can see what Chase is up to on Instagram at @iam_chasesol and get a feel for what I'm talking about. Give a listen to his recent releases on all DSP's and stay patient while we prepare for the flood!

Events Coming Up 🎟️
We’re trying something new this year. We’ve decided to host events once every other week instead of every Thursday. This decision boiled down to our mission statement: Creating the resources to empower our people.
We want to be more intentional and have more fun. This allows us to host less frequent events but to be more hands-on and creative.
I mean.. did you even come to our 12-hour session last month?! It was amazing! We want more events just like that throughout the year, and we’re doing just that.
More intention = more impact.
