The next time you’re in a crowded room, take note of the quiet people. They don’t say much, but are often the only ones with something meaningful to say. They remain to themselves until they deem talking necessary and rather observe than speak just because they can. It’s what one chooses not to say that shows the discipline, control, and respect given to the power of words. YG Dev is a master observant and uses this skill to create some of the best music you’ve ever heard!
With every reason to let his ego win, Dev goes out of his way to support others. Investing his time, energy, and money without question to complete the mission. A lot of the work Dev puts in goes unnoticed and If asked who YG Dev is, most would loosely say he’s Nast B’s A&R without acknowledging the weight that comes with that title. Being responsible for someone’s internal and external development can be detrimental if you’re unsure how to measure the amount of yourself you give away. Dev takes every challenge head on with nothing but grace. Look up resilient in the dictionary and you’ll see a picture of YG Dev wearing a brand you can’t pronounce and shoes that don’t come out for another two years.
I’m honored to work alongside Dev everyday. His presence brings a sense of creative structure to any situation. When you’re indecisive he makes a decision, when you have writer’s block he has a melody, and when you’re unsure of yourself he can instill the belief. Ask me how I know! I could go on about how great Dev is, but everything I say pales in comparison to the work available to the world.
