I once read that fear can be a guide, helping us identify what we need to embrace to grow. Ever since then, I've made an effort to use fear to my advantage. I understand that when I feel anxious or uneasy, my body is simply preparing me to face the unknown. Discernment is essential because there are genuine threats to your well-being that need to be avoided. However, if you struggle to distinguish between real danger and the signals of your internal compass, it can result in inaction. Being in this state of uncertainty is the worst situation to find yourself in.
Despite the uncertainty, My'Esha continues to trust Double M to guide her and I believe that facing her fears now will help her become the artist she wants to be!
Many of the artists I work with struggle to be vulnerable, but My'Esha faces the opposite challenge. She tends to share more than necessary, which can lead to overthinking and mental exhaustion. Honestly, I prefer having more than enough material to work with, so our working relationship makes sense. We develop our concepts through conversation, allowing her to express herself freely while I connect the dots. I’m grateful that she can lower her guard during our sessions, as it enables us to create more authentically and efficiently convey what she wants to say.
I am excited to see how her confidence will grow as we finish our new music. The release of past experiences that have held her back for so long will finally be out and be a light for someone going through similar struggles.
