All art is inspired by something that came before. This applies to any field, and the cycle continues because new people are always entering the world. 'Telling it how you see it' makes the spectrum of human experiences seem wider than it is, allowing us to experience our six most basic emotions from eight billion different points of view.
Travis is a true purist, not too concerned with the logic behind why things sound the way they do but moved by sound itself. While many musicians nowadays chase charts, Travis remains in service to the art, with the execution of what's in his head as the only measure of success. He possesses a level of humility responsible for acts such as Frank Ocean, Noname, and Dreamville's Lute who happen to be a few of his favorite artists.
A fanatic at his core! Pulling from an extensive Rolodex of influences, Travis treats each song like a puzzle, consciously choosing each beat, pocket to flow in and out of, and the words that'll best convey his message. One of his last sessions even called for a "crowd" effect behind some of his lyrics. Being resourceful, Travis got me and a couple of other artists to scream in the background creating the illusion of more people, and showing that no matter the idea, you have everything you need!
