Make sure your chase is intentional. Pursuit without purpose is a waste of time, energy, and vocation. Many artists want to be known, but only those with a compelling story will reach the masses. You might wonder how to make your story more appealing, and the answer is simple: Speak to inspire others, not to hear yourself talk. Opie creates with intention.
He doesn't talk much about things other than his music. He pays close attention to people around him because the things he raps about aren't for everyone. Before meeting Opie at our recent Media Day event, he was just another artist Damani and I talked to online. When we met him in person, Opie was just as humble and dedicated to his art as he claimed to be on our weekly Discord calls.
When I asked him about his goal, he said it was simply to spread the word. He wants to help those going through what he overcame, and I admire that the most. A man of great faith and determination.
